Energy Foresight Programme
Energy Foresight is a programme that supports delivery of the module in the Key Stage 4 National Curriculum for science, which deals with radioactivity and related issues. The programme has been designed in conjunction with the DIUS, QCA and the awarding bodies. In particular, the Energy Foresight programme aims to:
- Stimulate an interest in science as a subject for further study, including at university level;
- Encourages students, teachers and parents to develop their own thoughts around moral and ethical issues related to the Nuclear Industry;
- Encourages positive interest in the nuclear sector as a source of future employment.
The Energy Foresight Programme is delivered in school via weekly one hour lessons over the period of one term and is supported by a full portfolio of materials including:
- 3 BBC films addressing: Radiation and Health; Power Production and Managing Nuclear Waste.
- Written Support Material (Student activity sheets and teacher notes)
