Module 1 Safety and Environmental Management

This unit addresses the knowledge and behaviours required to maintain a strong nuclear safty culture both at an individual level and at an organisational level.
The main outcome is that the student will have an appreciation of how human and organisational factors contribute to nuclear safety. They will understand the commitment and SQEP resource necessary to provide assurance that the risk from human error is ALARP and the part that they play in an organisation to ensuring that a nuclear safety culture is maintained at all times and security measures in place are managed..
The module comprises 6 units, all of which are mandatory

Assessment
Outcomes will be tested by one of the following mechanisms;
- written examination
- structured interview to assess how behaviours have been embedded by the learner
- work based case study from the candidates own role in the organisation.
