Workers Training Workers Programme
The Skills Academy is working with employers to develop a cohort of Worker-Trainers within the nuclear sector. These Worker-Trainers are volunteers who will share their wealth of skills and experience by mentoring their fellow workers. This will be underpinned by providing knowledge and understanding potentially building up to S/NVQ Level 3 in Direct Training and Support.
The following modules can be taken at the pace of the individual, building up to the full S/NVQ knowledge and understanding as required. Competency will be assessed in the workplace.
- Basic Skills Support in the Workplace.
- Mentoring in the Workplace.
- Coaching Learners in the Workplace.
- Training and Presenting in the Workplace.
- Skills Training in the Workplace.
The Skills Academy is working with employers, trade unions and training providers to:
- Develop and implement Workers Training Workers Programme across the Nuclear Industry.
- Support attainment of a recognised qualification.
- Trade Unions will work in partnership helping identify suitable candidates to
undertake the role of Worker-Trainer.
