How do I achieve the qualification?
To achieve the ANIA qualification you will need to complete the training course and then sit an exam. The training can either be classroom based via one of the Skills Academy quality assured Providers or if you prefer, the training can be carried out online by purchasing the Skills Academy e-Learning Training Package.
How long does the training take?
The duration of the time required to complete the training is 70 guided learning hours (typically). It is recommended that you spread out your learning over a number of weeks.
How long is the exam and where do I sit the exam?
The exam duration is 2 hours. If you choose to undertake the training with one of the Skills Academy quality assured Providers, you will sit the exam at the Providers site. If you purchase the E Learning Training Package, you will get to select an exam centre of your choice.
When is the Exam.
The dates for the exam are specified and set by the qualification awarding body (PAA\VQ-SET). 3 exam dates will currently available per year in February, May and October (more exam dates may become available as demand increases):
How do I purchase the Skills Academy ANIA E Learning Training Package?
The E Learning package can only be purchased via the Skills Academy website
I would like to undertake the ANIA as a classroom training course. How do I find a suitable training provider?
Skills Academy quality assured Providers who are offering delivery of the ANIA are detailed on the Skills Academy website Provider pages
How much does it cost to do the ANIA qualification?
The total cost (training, exam registration and certification) will typically be in the range of £500 to 1000 + VAT per learner for delivery by a Training Provider. Providers may offer Employers a discounted cost for a cohort of learners (typically between 10 and 20 learners)
The Skills Academy E learning Training package (including exam registration and certification) will be set at an introductory offer rate of £450 + VAT per learner. The following Employer member benefits apply for e-learner places purchased in a single transaction

How do I get the member discount?
Skills Academy Member Employers Human Resources Department should contact the ANIA Project Lead to obtain a unique Employer discount code for the learner vouchers required. Please email your enquiry to ania@nuclear.nsacademy.co.uk stating your employee learner requirements. This discount code provided must be added during the online checkout to obtain the memeber benefit.
Can I change my chosen exam date if purchased online via the Skills Academy?
Your registration for your chosen exam date is fixed approximately 8 weeks prior to the exam date by the Awarding Body. If you wish to change your exam date you must contact the Skills Academy ANIA Administrator at least 2 months prior to the exam date you have chosen. The ANIA Administrator will be able to access the online system and offer you an alternative date. You will only be able to change your exam date once, without incurring a re-sit charge. You will need to contact the Training Provider who you completed the training course with.
I’ve missed my exam. Can I re-sit the exam and will I have to pay again?
The cost for re-sitting the examination will be £125 + VAT. Depending upon the circumstances of your absence, the re-sit cost may be waived or reduced at the discretion of the Awarding Body, PAA\VQ-SET. You will need to write to the Awarding Body, giving the details of your absence for these to be considered.
