Skills Academy Welcomes Mon Maintenance

Mon Maintenance Services Ltd recently pledged its commitment to ensuring its staff are trained to the highest standards by becoming an Employer Member of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear.

Local to Anglesey, Mon Maintenance is a multi trade Maintenance Engineering company, who are committed to training and employing local skilled workers and retaining the local skill base in readiness for nuclear new build and the decommissioning of existing nuclear installations.

Mon Maintenance joined the National Skills Academy for Nuclear because of their current involvement with projects in Trawsfyndd and their aspiration to have a wider remit in the nuclear sector.

Andrew Samuel, Managing Director of Mon Maintenance said;

 “The involvement that we have had already by the Skills Academy has been very valuable, the Welsh Regional Manager, Alli Hunt is very supportive and responsive to meet our needs and goals.  We are now attending the Regional Steering Group, which provide us with an opportunity to inform and input into the direction of the Skills Academy, ensuring its capability to meet the skills needs of the sector.

We see the Nuclear skills Passport as an important part of demonstrating our competency, saving time and money while increasing our productivity.  This will impact on the quality and standard of our services to our customers.  The NSP will be a major part of our business development strategy especially when the nuclear new build projects begin.

Our local college, Coleg Menai, is a Quality Assured provider member of the Skills Academy.  The college provides Mon Maintenance with full support in developing skills and capability that is appropriate to the industry needs and fits with our own business strategy.”

Welsh Regional Manager for the Skills Academy , Allli Hunt added;

“We are delighted to welcome Mon Maintenance to our network,  which demonstrates their commitment to ensuring their workforce is trained to the highest standards. We look forward to working with Mon Maintenance at this exciting time of growth and development for the UK nuclear industry.”
